Campbell's Gold

In the early 1900s, Dick Campbell acquired the Hidden Treasure, a previously mined gold mine near Silverton, Colorado. Although previous miners believed that they had mined all the gold that was present, Dick was convinced there was more gold to be found. Dick encountered both human and natural challenges: claim jumpers, an avalanche, being trapped underground, and a mine flood. At the age of 78, he finally found his rich vein of gold but mysteriously died before he could tell anyone.

Thirty years later, Dick’s grandson, Kevin McNair, a geology professor, inherits the mine. With the help of graduate student Sara Wakefield, Kevin renews the search for the gold his grandfather believed was there. Unknown to Kevin, he has drawn the attention of two brothers who decide to kill him to protect a secret. Campbell’s Gold will keep you reading to solve the mysteries of Dick’s death and the elusive gold.
